Tenn. patients file Kugel mesh lawsuit

Two Tennessee men have filed a hernia patch lawsuit against Davol Inc., the manufacturer of the Composix Kugel mesh hernia patch. The lawsuit by Hugh French and Michael Earles alleges that their health has become much worse after being implanted with the Kugel mesh patch, and that they may face additional health problems in the future because of the device.

Judge allows users of non-recalled hernia patches to file lawsuits

A Federal judge has ruled that patients who used a Composix Kugel mesh hernia patch not specifically recalled by the manufacturer can still file a hernia patch lawsuit. The ruling by U.S. District Court Judge Mary Lisi also transferred all federal lawsuits against Davol Inc.—the manufacturer of the Kugel hernia patch—to Rhode Island.
